This year is coming to a close. It has been a crazy year that is for sure. I just wanted to give some highlights on the fam! I thought I would do an electronic Christmas Letter and then didn't finish before Christmas but here we are!
Levi: Levi accepted a job at Lake City Church as their Middle School Pastor. He had been previously laying hardwood floors. When we began our adventure of moving to CDA Levi felt a calling in his life to become a youth pastor. He has always had a heart for youth but never felt called to it full time until recently. He finished his classes at Northwest University and is now an official "pastor". I asked Levi what is favorite part of youth ministry is and he said "Well, all of it." I then asked him to elaborate. He continued with "Being able to create an environment that allows students to be themselves. To help cultivate a team of leaders who also create safe places for students to ask the tough questions and to have fun. Fun over time equals trust. I like to see that play out at our youth group. It is about allowing them to find out who they believe they are but more importantly helping them discover their true identity in Christ. It's messy but it's fun and so worth it."
Myself: I graduated from Whitworth University in May and 4 weeks later we had Addison. This year has been a bit of a whirl wind. All the plans I have made for my life have changed. I was accepted into Eastern Washington's graduate program but shortly after Addison was born I let them know I would not be attending. God has been moving in my life. I have been called to a season of stillness. i am currently working on writing that experience out. So be looking out for it. I am currently doing some work for Pacific Crest Insurance from home. My most important investments is Addison. Taking care of her has been cray cray. Oh, and I am learning to cook...pray for us! Ha!
Addison: Addison was diagnosed Congenital Atresia of the Intrahepatic Portal Venous System with Portal Hypertension, in other words she is missing veins in her liver. Despite all that she is doing FANTASTIC! Her levels are still high but no longer in the danger zone. She is growing and gaining weight like a champ. It is crazy to think about how God designed our bodies to be so complex. How her little body created a shunt so that blood can travel. Our prayers are that it stays open. The doctors do not know when and if it will close. She has been eating solid foods but only vegetables at this point. The Doc has us on a strict food process to see how her liver will respond to certain foods. We will introduce fruit at some other time. There is a possibility that she may have to live on a vegetarian diet. But we will cross that bridge when we come to it! She loves to do all the baby things. She rolls every where, has two teeth, sits up, plays in the bath, and smiles almost all the time. She definitely got her Papa's temperament and is a pretty easy going baby!
As a family we have some goals and life style changes that we hope to make in 2018! One thing for me is more writing. So, I will be posting about those goals!
We wish you and your families a Happy New Year!
