We have officially lived in Coeur d'Alene for a month...ONE WHOLE MONTH. Seems like a lifetime yet not really. Here are a few things that have been fun (a couple not so fun) to discover over the last 31 days. Disclaimer there are a plethora of pictures.
The traffic lights change in a heart beat. Literally. I have never ran so many traffic lights in my life. So beware.
There was so much smoke the first couple weeks it made going out hard. Not impossible but hard. Just a little idea of what we were dealing with.
Farmers Markets are a big deal! They have one one Wednesday night for those of us who work weekends AND one on Saturday morning. I ate the most delicious cantaloupe after our first outing! YUM! Joy and I went to the one in Hayden that is held on Saturdays and it had a little more to offer. People where selling everything from homemade jam to homemade rocking chairs. It was great. Since we have a ridiculous love for jalapeños we both ended up buying huckleberry jalapeños jam. It was spicy but totally worth it.
Two words, Dog Parks. They are every where! E-V-E-R-Y W-H-E-R-E. If you have a dog that isn't an arrogant turd (Tucker) and they like to play with other dogs they will LOVE IT! As well as you. Because they make the human park just as fun. See next point...
There is a wonderful downtown park. It has everything from a splash pad for the little kids, basketball and tennis court to the older kids, and picnic and grassy areas for those of us who are to mature for the childish things ;) Second thing I love about this park is the Centennial trail runs right through it. Every time I go on a ride I get to drive through this really pretty park.
Silverwood. That is all I have to say. Just kidding I do have one thing to say. I did go on a ride that was completely out of character for me but I figured new life time to changes things up. The ride was Spin Cycle. Look it up. I couldn't take pictures because I was on my death bed.
Last but certainly not least is the familiarity of our teenage years. We grew up with Sharis Restaurant and we have missed it. We spent many cheap dates having pie and coffee at all hours of the day and night. We wanted to go out so I called up my AMAZING sister in law and told her to invite people to come to Sharis because we want to break out and start meeting people. If you know me that is not something that comes naturally but I have to push myself. So we went and had a great time.

I mentioned the Centennial trail. By far my most favorite part of living here. I have got to go on both runs and bike rides by the Spokane River and around part of Lake Coeur d'Alene. Truly it is a blessing to live so near to the trail. Not only do we live right next to the trail but right across the street from us is the Spokane River. I like to take Tucker on walks by the river and through this cute/quiet neighborhood.

The Spokane River. Right across the street from our house.
So completely blessed to be in another place that has such amazing views! Another sight I have loved seeing is the farm houses and fields lined right up with the mountains. It is like God created this place just for me. I know He didn't but it sure feels like He combined the two worlds I love. See below to get what I am saying.

I hope to make many more discoveries and memories in the months to come! Cheers Coeur d'Alene.

Welcome back to Washington Em!
